Staff at the ExCeL have donated more than 100 Easter eggs to a food charity.

Like most airports, the security department at London City Airport is required to follow a strict set of guidelines set by the governing body, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Due to these strict rules, the team are obligated to confiscate items from passengers that do not fit the requirements – i.e. liquids, gels and pastes over 100ml.

We are delighted to support Community Food Enterprise (CFE), a fantastic local charity who ensure food is distributed to those in need, supporting homeless shelters and refugee centres throughout the borough of Newham.

 

This Easter, we donated chocolate eggs to children who otherwise wouldn’t have had a treat or been able to take part in an Easter egg hunt

Costa East London Surplus Food Pilot

Community Food Enterprise (CFE) carried out a 2 (two) weeks pilot in with 10 Costa Stores in 5 (five) East London boroughs comprising of Newham, Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Tower Hamlets.

Newham charities get funding boost from ExCel London

Two Newham charities supporting local disadvantaged residents have secured funding from ExCel London for another year.

 

The Newham All Star Sports Academy (NASSA), which provides young people with sports and coaching opportunities, and Community Food Enterprise (CFE), an award-winning social enterprise food business will benefit from the extended partnership.
